Senior FPGA Developer

Role Summary

The Senior FPGA Developer designs, implements, and verifies FPGA firmware for complex electronic systems. The role works within an engineering team in Suzhou to deliver production-quality RTL, perform integration and validation, and support product release activities.

Experience Level

Senior - typically 7+ years of relevant FPGA/RTL development experience expected.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Architect, design, and implement RTL (Verilog/VHDL) for FPGA-based systems.
• Develop and execute functional and timing verification using simulation and testbenches.
• Perform synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, and resource optimization.
• Integrate FPGA designs with SoC/ASIC, firmware, and board-level components.
• Develop scripts and automation for build, test, and regression (Tcl, Python, Make).
• Lead lab bring-up, hardware debugging, and system-level validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document design decisions and test results.
• Mentor junior engineers and review peer designs.

Requirements

Minimal and preferred qualifications:

• Must-have: Strong RTL design skills (Verilog or VHDL), proven experience with FPGA toolflows (synthesis, implementation, timing closure).
• Must-have: Experience with simulation and verification tools and methodologies.
• Must-have: Practical hardware bring-up and debugging skills (lab equipment, signal integrity basics).
• Must-have: Familiarity with common FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus) and version control.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with high-speed serial interfaces (PCIe, SERDES), SoC integration, embedded firmware collaboration, or HLS flows.
• Nice-to-have: Scripting for automation (Tcl, Python) and CI/CD for FPGA builds.
