System Emulation and Evaluation Engineer

Role Summary

Join the emulation team to evaluate mixed-signal ASICs and develop FPGA prototypes and proof-of-concept implementations for pre-silicon validation. The role supports test development, prototype evaluation and ensuring the ASIC meets customer requirements.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Candidates with less industry experience will be considered if they can demonstrate strong hands-on hardware, FPGA and bench-testing experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Port ASIC RTL to FPGA with minimal changes to enable pre-silicon testing.
• Prototype systems on FPGAs to validate architectures and IP for proof-of-concept work.
• Design and implement FPGA testbenches for testing mixed-signal devices.
• Translate requirements into test plans and identify architectural improvements and bugs.
• Test and analyse design blocks on FPGA and contribute to automated regression testing for complete designs.
• Contribute to product definition, prototype evaluation, test development and product release activities.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews and technical documentation.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Practical experience with FPGA devices and associated tool flows.
• Hands-on bench testing and debugging of hardware, firmware and software in integrated systems.
• Experience with ASIC RTL and FPGA prototyping or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work to tight and variable schedules and communicate complex technical information clearly.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with PCB schematic design and layout reviews.
• Experience with in-circuit emulators, bus interfaces and protocol analyzers.
• Semiconductor industry experience.
• Python scripting for test automation.
• Familiarity with DACs, ADCs and DSP concepts.

Education Requirements

Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
