System Architect - Protocol Bridges
Role Summary
Define architecture and product roadmap for protocol bridges, interface aggregators, and connectivity hub solutions. Work with customers and cross-functional teams (design, test, applications, marketing) to translate system requirements into product specifications and deliver demos, reference designs, and documentation.
Experience Level
Senior level. The posting requests 15+ years of relevant product-definition and architecture experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include product definition, customer engagement, and cross-functional launch support.
- Define innovative protocol-bridge and interface-aggregator product roadmap based on market and application trends.
- Gather and translate customer/system requirements into product specifications and value propositions.
- Perform competitive technical analysis and benchmarking.
- Collaborate with design, test, applications, and marketing teams to develop and launch products on schedule.
- Prepare technical documentation: specifications, datasheets, white papers, application notes, and demos.
- Oversee development of reference circuits and demonstration boards.
- Provide technical support for complex customer issues and assist field applications teams and key customers.
- Engage with partners, OEMs, and standards bodies to influence architectures and standards.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- 15+ years of experience in new product definition and architecture specification.
- Deep knowledge of interface specifications: USB2/eUSB2, I3C, I2C, UART, SPMI, SDIO, I2S, and real-time Ethernet (100M/1G).
- Prior experience specifying and developing protocol-bridging, aggregation, or interface-expander solutions (MCU-based or hardware-FSM based).
- Proven ability to translate customer requirements into product specs and to work directly with customers for design-ins.
- Experience producing technical documentation and product demonstrations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; experience collaborating across engineering, marketing, and product teams.
- Participation in standards or industry working groups is expected.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with timestamping, security/encryption, IEEE1722 and IEEE1588 implementations.
- Experience developing SystemC functional models and timing-accurate modeling.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (BSEE) required; Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) is desirable.
