System Architect, Network Adapters

Role Summary

Senior system architect for Network Adapters hardware focused on DPU platforms, both standalone and integrated into larger NVIDIA systems. The role defines detailed hardware/system architecture considering cost, performance, power, thermal, and security trade-offs and works closely with SW/FW/HW, product teams, and customers.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining system-level hardware architecture and coordinating cross-team integration and optimizations.

  • Tailor HW architecture with SW/FW architects (DPU management, power management, security solutions).
  • Act as focal point for interface definitions and HW–SW co-design optimizations across the company.
  • Lead hardware SKU optimization with product teams.
  • Define DFT features with product engineering teams.
  • Create cross-organization methodologies to improve HW–SW co-design.
  • Define system-level features for next-generation silicon.
  • Present solutions to lead customers and incorporate customer feedback.
  • Drive cost-optimization efforts for hardware solutions.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience for effective performance in this role.

  • 3+ years of experience in system hardware design, including product definition through mass production.
  • Deep understanding of high-performance server design.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including customer-facing experience.
  • Proven teamwork and ability to work across organizations.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Action-oriented with strong analytical skills and interest in diverse, innovative projects.

Nice-to-have:

  • Proven experience in system architecture covering both HW and FW.
  • Experience with high-speed networking solutions.
  • Knowledge of PCIe CEM and pluggable interconnect specifications.

Education Requirements
