Job Title
System and Architecture Engineer
Role Summary
Define and develop next-generation high-speed SerDes and PHY systems for FPGA/ASIC products. Work with analog, digital, firmware, and product teams to model architectures, set component requirements, and optimize trade-offs for power, area, and performance.
Role is based in Haifa, Israel (primary location) and contributes to system-level architecture, algorithm development, simulation, and post-silicon validation.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 8+ years of relevant experience in FPGA/ASIC architecture, design, and development.
Responsibilities
Accountabilities for this role include system architecture, modeling, algorithm work, and cross-team coordination:
- Define and document system and component requirements for analog, digital, and firmware teams.
- Model and optimize system architectures to meet specifications while balancing power, die size, and performance.
- Research, develop, tune, and validate DSP algorithms and system flows.
- Run simulations and analyze system performance metrics to identify improvements.
- Support post-silicon validation and debugging; translate silicon findings into design updates.
- Identify design risks, propose mitigation strategies, and report system status and issues to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with product management and development teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance targets are met.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 8+ years experience in FPGA/ASIC architecture, design, and development.
- Proven expertise in SerDes and PHY design for high-speed serial links.
- Hands-on experience with system modeling tools such as MATLAB and Simulink.
- Experience developing and validating DSP algorithms and tuning flows for serial links.
- Strong understanding of communication standards (examples: Ethernet, OIF, PCIe).
- Experience optimizing serial link chip implementations for power, performance, and area.
- Post-silicon validation and debugging experience.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with analog design, RTL, and firmware development.
- Experience with advanced signaling and protocol compliance testing.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
