System and Analog Data Scientist

Role Summary

Apply data analytics and machine learning to improve the design, verification, performance, and yield of system-on-chip (SoC) and analog circuits. Work with design, verification, and test engineering teams to embed data-driven models and insights into engineering workflows.

Focus on predictive modeling, anomaly detection, experiment design, and productionizing analytics to reduce design iterations and time-to-market.

Experience Level

Mid-level - approximately 3+ years of relevant data science experience applied to engineering or semiconductor problems.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop data ingestion, cleaning, and transformation pipelines for design and test data.
  • Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and deep learning to identify patterns, anomalies, and correlations in large datasets.
  • Create predictive models for circuit performance, reliability, and yield to inform design decisions.
  • Design and execute experiments to validate models and measure impact on product development.
  • Integrate data science solutions into design, verification, and test workflows.
  • Communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders via clear visualizations and reports.
  • Stay current with advances in data science, machine learning, and semiconductor design methodologies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 3+ years applying data science and machine learning to engineering problems; semiconductor industry experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch) or R.
  • Experience with statistical modeling, regression, classification, clustering, time-series analysis, and deep learning.
  • Ability to translate engineering challenges into data-driven solutions and design experiments for validation.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills for cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with SQL and data warehousing.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with big-data tools (Spark, Hadoop); familiarity with semiconductor design flows, analog circuit fundamentals, and system-level architectures.

Education Requirements

BSc, Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
