Synthesis & Front-End Implementation Engineer

Role Summary

The Synthesis & Front-End Implementation Engineer is responsible for translating RTL designs into optimized gate-level netlists, ensuring that performance, power, and area targets are achieved for complex IP blocks.

Experience Level

Mid-level, requiring 2+ years of relevant experience in digital ASIC/SoC design.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include the following:

• Performing synthesis of RTL designs for various digital blocks and sub-systems.
• Developing and implementing robust timing constraints (SDC).
• Conducting static timing analysis (STA) and collaborating with design teams for timing closure.
• Executing formal verification (LEC) to ensure functional equivalency.
• Analyzing and optimizing power consumption at the front-end stage.
• Performing area estimation and optimization for chip size requirements.
• Collaborating with RTL designers, DFT engineers, and physical design engineers.
• Developing and maintaining automation scripts (Tcl, Python, Perl).
• Evaluating and integrating new CAD tools and methodologies.
• Documenting design constraints, methodologies, and analysis results.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in digital ASIC/SoC design.
• Proficiency with industry-standard synthesis tools (e.g., Synopsys Design Compiler).
• Strong understanding of static timing analysis (STA).
• Experience with formal verification tools (e.g., Synopsys Formality).
• Understanding of low-power design techniques and power analysis concepts.
• Solid knowledge of Verilog/System Verilog.
• Familiarity with Tcl, Python, Perl for automation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
