Role Summary
Paid summer internship (8–10 weeks) within the Short-Range Business Unit, based in Trondheim or Oslo, Norway. Interns contribute to real product development in wireless connectivity and embedded software under the supervision of experienced engineers.
The role focuses on hands-on project work in Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi‑Fi and short-range communication technologies, including prototyping, testing and collaborative development.
Experience Level
Entry-level student internship (early-in-career). Intended for current Bachelor’s or Master’s students; no prior full‑time industry experience required.
Responsibilities
The intern will work on real engineering tasks that support short-range wireless products and demos.
- Develop, test and debug embedded firmware or software components related to wireless connectivity.
- Collaborate with engineers on prototyping, design reviews and verification activities.
- Work with Bluetooth LE, Wi‑Fi, and other short-range communication technologies.
- Participate in experiments, signal testing and basic RF or signal-processing tasks as relevant to the project.
- Produce deliverables and documentation; present progress to the team and mentor.
Requirements
Core technical and personal qualifications for successful candidates.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages: C, C++, Python, or Rust.
- Basic experience or strong interest in embedded systems development or cross‑platform/mobile application development (React, Android, iOS).
- Interest in wireless technologies (Bluetooth LE, Wi‑Fi), IoT and related tooling.
- Familiarity or interest in signal processing, control systems or RF design is a plus.
- Interest in on‑device (edge) AI, deployment and verification is advantageous.
- Problem‑solving mindset, proactive attitude, good communication and ability to work in a team.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Technical Cybernetics, Computer Science or a related technical field. Academic transcript requested as part of application materials.
