Summer Intern- CPU Verification Engineer

Role Summary

The Summer Intern - CPU Verification Engineer will undertake responsibilities related to verifying design features across all aspects of CPU within Qualcomm Semiconductor Limited. This role involves collaboration with various teams including design and verification teams to develop and execute test plans.

Experience Level

Internship level, typically suited for students pursuing a Bachelor's or higher degree.

Responsibilities

The intern will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Develop a deep understanding of CPU micro-architecture.
• Work closely with design/verification teams to create comprehensive test plans.
• Execute test plans using simulation and formal verification methodologies.
• Verify power intent through methodologies like UPF.
• Collaborate with system architects and software teams to validate system use cases.
• Work with the emulation team for verification on emulators and FPGA platforms.
• Debug and triage failures in simulation, emulation, and/or Silicon.

Requirements

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with coursework in computer architecture.
• Experience in programming languages such as C/C++ and scripting languages like Perl/Python.
• Familiarity with hardware description languages, mainly System Verilog or VHDL.
• Experience with embedded firmware implementation in assembly and C language.
• Proficiency in software tool chains including assemblers, C compilers, Makefiles, and source code control tools.

Education Requirements

A BA/BS degree in CS/EE is required, with a strong preference for applicants who also have a Masters or PhD in the same fields.
