Job Title

Summer 2027 Long Term Analog and Mixed Signal Engineering Intern/Co-Op

Role Summary

Work on analog and mixed-signal features for semiconductor products, supporting design, verification, testing, validation, and automation. You will be placed with an engineering team and collaborate with cross-functional and global engineering groups throughout the product development lifecycle.

This is a full-time (37.5 hrs/week) co-op/intern position with hybrid or onsite work arrangements for the term specified by the program.

Experience Level

Intern / Co-op (Entry-level). Suitable for current undergraduate students; position is a 12‑ or 16‑month full-time term.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include contributing to analog and mixed-signal engineering tasks under supervision of experienced engineers.

  • Support design, analysis, verification, testing, and validation of analog and mixed-signal circuits and layouts.
  • Use industry-standard EDA/CAD tools to analyze, optimize, and verify circuits and layouts.
  • Develop and maintain scripts, automation tools, and workflows to improve productivity and design quality.
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and present technical data and test results.
  • Perform laboratory testing and characterization; use oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and function generators as needed.
  • Investigate technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and propose solutions in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Work with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

Required skills and experience for successful performance in the internship.

  • Must-have: Strong interest or exposure to analog, mixed-signal, semiconductor, or integrated circuit design.
  • Must-have: Fundamental understanding of electronics (transistors, resistors, capacitors, logic gates, circuit analysis).
  • Must-have: Familiarity with transistor-level circuit analysis and layout concepts.
  • Must-have: Experience with programming or scripting (Python, C, C++, Perl, Tcl, SKILL, Shell scripting, or similar).
  • Must-have: Hands-on or classroom experience with laboratory testing and characterization equipment.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior exposure to semiconductor devices, VLSI design, software development for automation, or data analysis applied to engineering workflows.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field at a Canadian university. (The role is a student co-op/intern position.)
