Job Title

Strategic Partnerships Manager, Memory

Role Summary

The Memory Strategic Technology Lead drives and program-manages memory technology strategy across Reality Labs products (AR glasses, VR headsets, smartwatches, AI wearables). This role connects Memory Sourcing, Silicon Architecture, Product Engineering, and suppliers to translate product roadmaps and technology transitions into actionable sourcing strategies that secure supply, reduce cost, and mitigate risk.

Requires semiconductor domain expertise, cross-functional program management, and commercial acumen to influence multi-year supply agreements and pricing structures.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 10+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor memory technology, memory product engineering, technical program management, or technical sourcing/supply chain roles.

Responsibilities

Accountable for memory sourcing strategy, supplier engagement, and program delivery across the Reality Labs portfolio.

  • Own memory sourcing roadmap across LPDDR4x/LP5x, eMMC, UFS, ePOP, uPOP, IPM, NOR flash, and PSRAM for all product lines.
  • Define and execute qualification strategies for new memory products, including die-level evaluation and multi-source qualification to eliminate sole-source risk.
  • Lead technical engagement with memory manufacturers and packaging partners on roadmaps, die/package architecture, and advanced packaging technologies.
  • Recommend memory density transitions based on cost, power, performance, and supply availability trade-offs.
  • Translate system-level requirements (bandwidth, peak power, package dimensions, thermal constraints) into supplier specifications and qualification plans.
  • Develop and maintain supplier capability scorecards and track industry technology trends and JEDEC activity to inform sourcing strategy.
  • Support long-term agreement negotiations with technical analysis, including cost modeling and density premium benchmarking.
  • Program-manage NPI qualification timelines, sample procurement, and coordination with SoC vendors and internal engineering teams.
  • Provide technical input on trade compliance and supply-chain geo-diversification related to memory sourcing.
  • Maintain program trackers, dashboards, and executive briefings on readiness, qualification status, and sourcing risk.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and capabilities.

  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor memory technology, memory product engineering, technical program management, or technical sourcing/supply chain roles.
  • Working knowledge of DRAM (LPDDR4x, LPDDR5/5x), NAND (eMMC, UFS), NOR flash, and PSRAM, including process nodes, die architectures, and packaging.
  • Experience with memory qualification processes (JEDEC standards, PVL/PRQ flows, reliability testing).
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical information into business decisions and lead cross-functional programs from definition through execution.
  • Experience engaging with memory suppliers at a technical level β€” reviewing datasheets, evaluating die specifications, and assessing supplier roadmaps.
  • Analytical skills including cost modeling, density/power/performance trade-off analysis, and total cost of ownership assessment.
  • Technical program management skills: program planning, milestone tracking, dependency management, stakeholder alignment, and executive communication.
  • Experience developing supplier qualifications and driving supplier development for emerging memory and packaging technologies.
  • Familiarity with export control and trade compliance considerations related to semiconductor sourcing (preferred).

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience integrating AI tools to optimize workflows and demonstrated ongoing AI skill development.
  • Direct experience with mobile/consumer memory products (ePOP, MCP, uPOP, SiP) and advanced packaging (fan-out WLP, 2.5D/3D, IPM, KGD).
  • Prior experience at a memory semiconductor company or in a memory-focused sourcing role at a consumer electronics OEM.
  • Experience supporting LTA or supply agreement negotiations with technical cost modeling.
  • Familiarity with JEDEC standards development and participation in industry working groups.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Semiconductor Physics; MBA or PMP certification is also listed as a plus.
