Role Summary
As a member of the Qualcomm Standard Cell Design team, the candidate will contribute to the development of high-quality intellectual property (IP) for advanced semiconductor technology nodes. The role requires applying strong technical expertise and creativity to deliver efficient and scalable physical layout designs.
Experience Level
Mid-level. An associate’s degree or technical certificate is required, with foundational knowledge in relevant areas.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Designing and developing physical layouts for logic standard cells using CAD tools such as Cadence Virtuoso.
- Performing layout verification, including DRC, LVS, and ERC.
- Collaborating with circuit designers to meet quality, performance, and reliability standards.
- Managing layout databases with designated Design Management software.
- Communicating design status and tracking schedules within the engineering design team.
- Identifying and resolving design- and PDK-related issues independently.
- Working closely with global teams including those in the United States, Taiwan, and India.
- Showing strong communication skills and effective teamwork.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or technical certificate in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Understanding of CMOS technology and IC design principles.
- Attention to detail and collaboration skills.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of parasitic effects and reliability in advanced IC designs.
- Familiarity with SKILL and Python for automation.
- Exposure to advanced semiconductor process technologies such as FinFET.
Education Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but an associate’s degree or technical certificate is accepted.
