Standard Cell Circuit Design Engineer

Role Summary

The Standard Cell Circuit Design Engineer will work within Qualcomm's Engineering Group to create and optimize electronic systems that meet cutting-edge performance requirements. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the development of innovative solutions.

Experience Level

Mid-level, typically requiring 4+ years of experience in Hardware Engineering or related fields based on educational background.

Responsibilities

The Engineer will be responsible for the following:

• Plan, design, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems.
• Work with multi-site teams and ensure effective communication.
• Conduct physical implementation and layout supervision.
• Utilize statistical methodologies for variation-aware designs.
• Handle Silicon Tape Out and debug processes.
• Automate design processes using shell, perl, or python as necessary.

Requirements

Key requirements include:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field with 3+ years experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience.
• 8+ years of professional experience designing transistor level circuits for SoC applications (preferred).
• Strong background in CMOS transistor level circuit design.
• Familiarity with ASIC frontend/backend integration flows.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field.
