Job Title

Staff Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join Arm's Solution Engineering division to verify RTL implementing new features in Arm SoCs. You will work with RTL designers and verification engineers to ensure new functionality meets architectural requirements and does not regress existing behavior.

The role is focused on developing and maintaining verification environments and strategies for complex IP/SoC blocks and contributing to verification methodology improvements.

Experience Level

Senior β€” more than 8 years of experience in IP/SoC verification (role expects senior-level experience and ownership).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include planning and executing verification tasks, collaborating with distributed teams, and mentoring junior engineers.

  • Collaborate with RTL teams across geographies to understand microarchitecture and design intent.
  • Develop and enhance verification environments, including stimulus generators and checkers.
  • Verify new Arm architecture features and ensure they do not impact existing functionality.
  • Define and implement verification strategies alongside other verification engineers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of verification methodology based on project learnings.
  • Mentor early-tenure verification engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

Must-have:

  • 8+ years of proven experience in IP/SoC verification.
  • Advanced proficiency in SystemVerilog and Verilog; deep knowledge of UVM methodology.
  • Experience writing verification plans and test plans.
  • Experience developing testbenches using standard verification methodologies.
  • Scripting experience (Perl, Python, or similar).
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with multi-functional, geographically distributed teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with AMBA protocols (CHI, AXI, AHB, APB, ATB) and JTAG/SW/TAP.
  • Hands-on experience with Arm CoreSight IP and debug/trace architectures.
  • Experience with Arm-based designs and Arm system architectures.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field (or equivalent practical experience as indicated by substantial verification experience).
