Job Title

Staff Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on verification for machine-learning and AI hardware IP, focusing on functional correctness, performance, and bring-up of next-generation Arm designs. The role sits within a verification team collaborating with architects, RTL designers and system engineers across global design centres.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing and executing verification plans, building environments, and enabling product delivery.

  • Design and implement verification environments and testbenches using SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Develop directed and constrained-random tests, assertions, and functional coverage models.
  • Perform debug and root-cause analysis of RTL and verification failures using simulators and waveform tools.
  • Integrate verification with CI systems and support regression automation and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and systems teams to close verification closure and support silicon bring-up.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers on verification best practices.

Requirements

Key technical must-haves and desirable skills.

  • Must-have: Extensive practical experience in hardware verification, including SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Must-have: Experience with assertions (SVA), functional coverage, constrained-random verification, and debug methodologies.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with simulators and verification tools (for example, VCS, Questa) and scripting for testbench automation (Python, Tcl, Perl or equivalent).
  • Must-have: Experience verifying complex SoC or IP blocks and working in cross-functional teams.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior exposure to machine-learning or AI accelerator verification, formal verification tools, or emulation platforms.
