Role Summary
Post-silicon validation engineer focused on DDR memory buffer products. Responsible for taking silicon through validation, characterization, and handover to customer mass production while collaborating with design, software, and global teams.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5+ years of experience in silicon validation, high-speed signal characterization, or related engineering roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing post-silicon validation and supporting product quality through release.
- Develop and execute silicon validation plans for DDR memory buffer products.
- Set up and maintain lab validation environments and automated test frameworks.
- Perform high-speed signal measurement, electrical characterization, analysis, and debug.
- Identify, document, and escalate defects; drive fixes with design, firmware, and global teams.
- Support customer issue investigations and provide technical troubleshooting and feasible solutions.
- Produce validation summaries, reports, and handoff materials for production.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and preferred extras.
- Hands-on experience with silicon electrical characterization and high-speed signal measurement, analysis, and debug.
- Strong knowledge of DDR3/DDR4/DDR5 and SerDes protocols, electrical characteristics, and testing methods.
- Proficient in Python; experience with automated test programming and data processing is preferred.
- Experience with lab equipment: high-speed oscilloscopes, arbitrary waveform generators, BERT, network analyzers, logic analyzers, DC power supplies, and SMUs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Preferred: familiarity with DIMM RCD, data buffer architecture, I2C/I3C, and board-level high-speed circuit design.
Education Requirements
MS or BS in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. Minimum ~5 years of relevant work experience in silicon validation or related roles.
