Staff Test Process Engineer
Role Summary
The Staff Test Process Engineer provides technical leadership for new product introduction, transfer, and high-volume manufacturing of automotive semiconductor final test operations. The role owns production readiness, resolves complex yield and quality issues, and drives test and manufacturing performance improvements.
Experience Level
Senior level. Minimum 6 years of experience in semiconductor test manufacturing, product engineering, or test engineering in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead introduction and qualification of new automotive semiconductor products through ramp to high-volume manufacturing.
- Provide technical ownership of final test operations: yield monitoring, failure analysis, root-cause investigation, and product disposition.
- Drive improvements in yield, OEE, retest reduction, cycle time, equipment utilization, and manufacturing cost.
- Plan and execute automation and cost-saving initiatives to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Supply Chain, and global engineering teams to resolve technical issues and meet customer requirements.
- Analyze production and test data using statistical and problem-solving methodologies and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Minimum 6+ years in semiconductor test manufacturing, product engineering, or test engineering in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with Automated Test Systems (ATE): ETS364, 93K SPEA, Diamondx, ETS800, and Flex module testers.
- Familiarity with failure analysis, reliability testing, root-cause investigation techniques, and statistical problem solving.
- Proven ability to drive yield and OEE improvements, reduce retest, and deliver cost-saving or automation projects.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work across global cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and willingness to support on-call duties if required.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field) is required.
