Staff Test Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and maintain production test programs and solutions for ATE to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and high-volume manufacturing (HVM). Collaborate with product, application and site engineering to deploy and validate test solutions, reduce test time, and resolve productivity and quality issues.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Guideline: 8+ years semiconductor industry experience in test, product, or application engineering.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include test program development, deployment and production support:
- Develop, enhance and optimize test source code and test programs to meet production requirements and reduce cycle time.
- Deploy test solutions during NPI and HVM, ensuring coverage per test plans and datasheets.
- Troubleshoot production test issues with site engineering to address productivity and in-line quality failures.
- Collaborate with product and application engineering and manufacturing sites to validate test solutions for custom applications.
- Identify and implement test-time reduction opportunities to improve throughput or respond to capacity constraints.
- Support customer-complaint and quality investigations using test-data analysis and monitoring.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- At least 8 years semiconductor-industry experience in EF/test engineering, product engineering or application engineering.
- Strong understanding of RF communication systems and RF front-end component technologies.
- Experience with test equipment such as ATE RF testers, handlers, probers and lab bench tools.
- Willingness to travel within APAC and work extra hours as required.
- Good communication skills in English; working knowledge of Chinese for regional collaboration.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and technical presentations.
Nice-to-have / differentiators:
- Experience with RF measurements for 5G, Wi‑Fi 6 or LTE.
- Experience with modular or instrument-based rack systems and Cohu LTX platforms (LTX-PAX, LTX-DiamondX).
- Hands-on use of network analyzers, oscilloscopes, RF simulation and debugging tools, and test-code source generation.
- Programming skills (C++, C#, Java, VB.net, JMP scripting).
- Exposure to RF schematic design and layout.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering is specified; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. The posting specifies a guideline of at least 8+ years of related semiconductor industry experience.
