Staff/Sr. Staff Electrical Test Engineer
LightmatterJob Title
Staff/Sr. Staff Electrical Test Engineer
Role Summary
Join the product engineering team to develop and support high-volume manufacturing (HVM) ATE test solutions for Lightmatter's silicon photonics products. The role focuses on wafer- and package-level test strategy, test program development, vendor collaboration, and post-silicon failure analysis.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 8+ years of ATE test development and manufacturing test experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and supporting ATE test flows and working with cross-functional and vendor teams to ramp products to production.
- Define, develop, implement, and support ATE test solutions for silicon photonics products.
- Develop characterization and manufacturing test plans during pre-silicon and post-silicon phases; identify test coverage gaps.
- Collaborate with product development, DFT, design, and manufacturing to debug failures and correlate simulation, bench, and tester results.
- Work with OSAT/test vendors to develop ATE test software and hardware infrastructure and manage test program releases.
- Drive wafer and package level manufacturing activities with foundries and assembly houses to improve yields and reduce costs.
- Lead test-time reduction efforts to enable HVM ramps and increase tester throughput.
- Write and maintain scripts and tools to improve test engineering productivity.
- Support customer deployment and resolve manufacturing-related technical issues.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 8+ years of ATE test development experience using Advantest V93000 or Teradyne platforms.
- Experience developing and releasing ATE test programs to OSAT/test vendors and collaborating on tester HW/SW.
- Proficient in scripting (Python or Java) for test automation and tooling.
- Proficient with data analysis tools and techniques (Excel, JMP, or equivalent) for yield and test data analysis.
- Experience debugging product failures across simulation, bench, and tester environments and working with multi-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to improve test coverage, capacity, yield, and reduce production costs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Capacity to comply with U.S. export control requirements.
Preferred:
- Mixed-signal and high-speed SerDes test experience.
- Understanding of DFT insertion techniques, including Scan.
- Ability to read and understand firmware code.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. (The posting explicitly allows equivalent experience.)
