Job Title

Staff / Sr. Staff Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

As a Design Verification Engineer you'll work with digital, analog, and photonic teams to verify integrated devices. You will develop UVM testbenches, mixed-signal and AMS models, and emulation-based flows to ensure functional and performance goals are met across block and full-chip designs.

Close collaboration with architects, digital designers, analog/photonics engineers, and the architecture team is required to drive verification from pre-silicon through post-silicon validation.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 8 years of design verification experience; hiring for Staff and Sr. Staff levels depending on experience and interview performance.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and improve DV methodologies for integrated digital, analog, and photonic systems, with emphasis on emulation.
  • Create and execute test plans to meet functional and performance objectives for tapeouts.
  • Develop reusable, scalable UVM testbench components and verification environments for simulation and emulation.
  • Collaborate with architects, DV engineers, digital designers, and analog/photonics designers to establish validation flows.
  • Integrate vendor and internal analog IP and develop behavioral models for analog components.
  • Perform block-level and full-chip verification and close coverage to satisfy DV signoff requirements.
  • Leverage mixed-signal simulations, emulation, and performance modeling to validate system behavior.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of design verification experience with SystemVerilog.
  • Expertise developing with the UVM library.
  • 2+ years of Python for verification and scripting.
  • Experience with industry simulators (Xcelium, ModelSim, Questa, VCS).
  • Experience with mixed-signal simulations and emulation-based verification.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
  • Ability to comply with U.S. export control laws.

Nice-to-have:

  • Post-silicon validation and debug experience.
  • AMS verification experience.
  • Formal verification, emulation platform development, or performance modeling experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Master's degree or higher in a related field is preferred for more senior levels; equivalent experience is acceptable.
