Job Title
Staff Software Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the Interconnect Fast Model team within Arm's Central Engineering Software (CE-SW) division. Develop and maintain high-performance C++ functional models of Arm interconnect IP used in Arm Virtual Platforms for system-level simulation, early software development, validation, and debugging.
The role leads technical implementation and integration work, collaborates with architects and hardware engineers, and delivers incremental model features to meet partner requirements.
Experience Level
Senior-level (Staff). Specific years of experience not stated.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and maintain efficient C++ models of Arm Interconnect IP for system-level simulation.
- Own technical investigations and resolve modeling and integration issues.
- Deliver models incrementally to support evolving partner requirements and early feedback.
- Collaborate with architects and hardware engineers to model next-generation hardware while specifications evolve.
- Integrate software on Arm Virtual Platforms, debug system-level issues, and improve modeling workflows.
- Drive technical discussions, provide technical judgment, and communicate clearly across teams and stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Strong C++ development skills with experience building robust, efficient software.
- Good understanding of computer architecture concepts (memory hierarchy, interconnects, system-level behavior).
- Proven ability to own complex technical problems, make engineering trade-offs, structure maintainable solutions, and handle ambiguity.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical teams and stakeholders.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with programmer’s view modeling or instruction-level simulators (e.g., QEMU, Simics, Gem5, Virtualizer) or SoC virtual prototyping using C++, SystemC, or TLM.
