Role Summary

Join the System Solutions team in Sophia Antipolis to develop production-quality firmware and low-level system software for next-generation Arm platforms. Work with a distributed engineering team to enable the Arm Neoverse CPU software ecosystem for server and datacentre platforms.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include design, implementation, validation, and debugging of low-level software; provide technical mentorship and raise engineering standards.

• Design and implement firmware and system-level software components for Arm platforms.
• Validate, debug and optimise software on multicore systems; perform software performance analysis.
• Investigate system-level issues spanning firmware, hardware and operating systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, OS) to resolve complex problems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers to improve team practices and quality.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Proficiency in Embedded C, memory management, concurrency, interrupts and memory-mapped I/O.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture; familiarity with the Arm architecture is preferred.
• Knowledge of memory hierarchy, cache coherency, memory ordering and multicore systems.
• Experience identifying and investigating performance bottlenecks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and with other engineering disciplines.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience developing and validating production-quality firmware for server/datacentre platforms.
• Experience with Trusted Firmware-A (TF-A), UEFI/EDK II, OpenBMC or the Linux kernel.
• Familiarity with server technologies such as RAS, PCIe, CXL, NUMA, virtualization/hypervisors and power management.
• Experience with Secure Boot, measured boot, hardware root of trust and firmware security architectures.
