Staff Software Applications Engineer

Role Summary

Provide technical support and guidance to customers integrating Imagination GPU cores and software into products across Automotive, Mobile, Desktop and Data Centre segments. Work within a team of software and hardware applications engineers to deliver debugging, performance analysis, documentation and training.

Primary mission: own key software deliverables, help customers move from initial bring-up to production, and resolve complex issues affecting stability and performance.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include customer-facing support, debugging, and product ownership.

• Guide and support customers through product development from first bring-up to production.
• Debug and validate software and applications on Windows, Linux and Android platforms.
• Investigate issues, perform root-cause analysis, and propose practical solutions for QA, stability and performance problems.
• Own and explain technical implementation details of software products (graphics processors, drivers) to customers and internal teams.
• Create documentation and deliver training on development kits, coding techniques and product usage.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams on feature integration and performance optimization.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Experience programming in low-level languages such as C/C++ (industry, academic or personal projects).
• Skilled in software debug and validation of applications on Windows, Linux and Android.
• Understanding of device drivers within high-level operating systems.
• Clear technical communication in both written and verbal form.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with 3D graphics APIs (DirectX, OpenGL ES, OpenCL, Vulkan).
• Knowledge of Functional Safety standards and automotive industry experience.
• Familiarity with graphics architecture and hardware/software interaction.
