Staff SoC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work as a verification engineer on Arm SoC integration projects in Raleigh within a distributed, cross-country team. The role focuses on defining verification strategies, building testbenches and tests, and ensuring correct SoC integration and performance for advanced silicon demonstrators.

Experience Level

Senior-level — typically 10+ years of experience in design or verification of complex compute subsystems or SoCs.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review architecture and design specifications and define functional verification strategy for SoC projects.
  • Craft test plans and develop SystemVerilog/Verilog testbenches and tests.
  • Debug test failures, investigate issues, and close verification gaps.
  • Contribute to and improve team verification methodologies and flows.
  • Collaborate with microarchitecture, software, and system-performance teams to validate integration and performance.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers and support project-management activities, plans, and schedules.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • 10+ years experience in design or verification of sophisticated compute subsystems or SoCs.
  • Strong understanding of digital hardware design and Verilog HDL.
  • Practical experience with SoC verification strategies, including software-based techniques.
  • Experience verifying subsystems such as PCIe/CXL, DDRx/LPDDRx, and HBM in SoC RTL.
  • Test-plan creation and tracking experience.
  • Experience verifying RTL for SoC projects.
  • Low-level programming experience, including C and assembler.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Arm-based designs or Arm system architectures.
  • SystemVerilog and verification methodologies (UVM/OVM/e).
  • Formal verification techniques and clock-domain crossing verification.
  • Scripting skills (Perl, Python or similar).
  • Power-aware verification, peripheral driver porting, and emulation platform experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (specified in the source).
