Staff SoC RTL Engineer
QuadricJob Title
Staff SoC RTL Engineer
Role Summary
Senior chip-design engineer on the SoC team responsible for subsystem RTL development, third-party IP integration, and SoC-level PPA optimization. Work spans architecture definition, front-end and back-end interactions, timing closure, and preparing customer releases.
Experience Level
Senior - requires a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on SoC/ASIC front-end design and integration experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include ownership of SoC subsystems, integration of external IP, and driving PPA and timing closure across the product lifecycle.
- Own SoC-level subsystem RTL development and integrate 3rd-party IP (e.g., NoC, PCIe/UCIe, DDR, security blocks).
- Contribute to SoC architecture definition based on application and software requirements.
- Drive power, performance, and area (PPA) optimization at the SoC level and apply low-power digital design techniques.
- Lead timing-closure efforts across front-end, back-end, and tapeout stages.
- Balance single-stream latency vs. scaled throughput in design trade-offs.
- Package and deliver design releases for customer evaluation; iterate based on feedback.
- Debug complex cross-domain issues across the hardware and software stack.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical qualifications.
- Must-have: Minimum 5+ years of SoC/ASIC front-end design and integration experience.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog or Verilog.
- Strong background in computer architecture and low-power digital design techniques.
- Deep technical expertise in at least one subsystem: memory, I/O, or compute.
- Proven experience with SoC subsystems and integration of 3rd-party IP; working knowledge of VCS and Verilog/C co-simulation.
- Nice-to-have: experience in logic synthesis and performance modeling.
- FPGA design experience.
- Familiarity with automotive safety (ASIL) and hardware security standards.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
