Staff SoC RTL Designer

Role Summary

Join the hardware design team to develop IP and integrate full SoC designs for FPGA products. The role focuses on RTL design, SoC integration, and improving design quality and delivery across global teams.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 5+ years of experience driving logic design across multiple silicon projects.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Design RTL for key FPGA blocks and participate in full-chip logic implementation.
  • Define micro-architecture with architects and translate specifications into RTL.
  • Lead SoC integration and quality verification tasks (lint, CDC, RDC, SDC).
  • Ensure design quality using assertions, checkers, and scripting.
  • Mentor and teach best practices to teammates and collaborate with worldwide groups.
  • Occasional travel as required.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes:

  • Strong RTL design skills with Verilog and SystemVerilog and disciplined coding methodology.
  • Experience with SoC integration, micro-architecture definition, and selecting third-party IP.
  • Familiarity with linting and quality flows, CDC analysis, and timing constraints (SDC).
  • Experience with ARM processors and bus protocols (AXI/AMBA); PCIe, Ethernet, and security/safety protocols are advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work independently, lead technical efforts, and coordinate across multiple sites/time zones.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
