Job Title

Staff Silicon Applications Engineer

Role Summary

Customer-facing applications engineering role supporting Arm-based server platforms. The role focuses on bring-up, board-level validation, laboratory debug and performance optimization for Arm AGI CPU platforms and other Arm SoC products.

Work closely with partners and internal teams (Solutions Engineering, Quality, Partner Enablement and Business Units) to de-risk customer designs and shorten development cycles, with particular emphasis on high-speed interfaces and board-level electrical performance.

Experience Level

Senior β€” multiple years of experience in semiconductor, server hardware, or platform development; proven ability to work independently and lead cross-functional technical work.

Responsibilities

The role is based in the Taipei/Hsinchu area and requires collaboration across global engineering and partner teams to resolve system-level silicon, package and PCB issues.

  • Review and advise on PCB schematics, layouts and package interfaces for signal and power integrity.
  • Investigate and resolve high-speed interface issues (DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, SerDes, UCIe) on customer platforms.
  • Perform board-level electrical characterization, interface validation and hands-on lab measurements using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and protocol analyzers.
  • Drive multi-functional collaboration and coordinate issue resolution across silicon, package and PCB teams.
  • Develop and deliver workshops, application notes and white papers to capture and share validated knowledge.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role.

  • Multiple years' experience in semiconductor, server hardware, or platform development.
  • Strong understanding of DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, SerDes and UCIe protocols.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI); familiarity with S-parameters, eye diagrams and channel analysis.
  • Recent hands-on laboratory debug experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and protocol analyzers.
  • Proven ability to work independently and coordinate across global teams.
  • Proficient spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Cadence Sigrity, Ansys HFSS/SIwave or Cadence Allegro.
  • IBIS and package modelling, PDN analysis.
  • Linux/Bash and Python scripting.
  • Experience applying AI tools in an engineering environment.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
