Job Title
Staff RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for architecture, RTL design, and implementation of digital ASIC blocks within the ASIC Digital Design hardware engineering team. The role leads technical design efforts, drives RTL quality, and coordinates with synthesis, timing, verification and physical-design teams to deliver silicon.
Based in Noida, India; the position is part of the broader digital design organization supporting SoC development and tapeout activities.
Experience Level
Senior (Staff level). Years of experience not specified in the source posting.
Responsibilities
The core responsibilities include technical leadership of RTL design and delivery:
- Define microarchitecture and implement RTL in Verilog/SystemVerilog for complex digital blocks.
- Create synthesizable RTL and constraints; collaborate with synthesis and timing teams to meet timing closure.
- Perform code reviews, RTL debugging, and root-cause analysis of functional and timing issues.
- Work closely with verification, DFT and physical-design teams to ensure integration and tapeout readiness.
- Optimize designs for power, performance, and area; participate in design-for-test and manufacturability efforts.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews and technical planning.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills expected for successful candidates.
-
Must-have: Proven experience in RTL design using Verilog/SystemVerilog and hands-on experience with synthesis flows and timing closure.
-
Must-have: Strong RTL debugging skills and familiarity with standard EDA tools (synthesis, simulation, STA).
-
Must-have: Experience collaborating with verification, DFT and physical-design teams and supporting SoC integration and tapeout cycles.
-
Must-have: Demonstrated technical leadership, code-review experience, and ability to mentor engineers.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with UVM-based verification environments, scripting (Python/Perl/Tcl), and floorplanning/physical-design awareness.
