Job Title

Staff RF Test Development Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and deploy test solutions for highly integrated millimeter-wave RFICs from first silicon characterization through production test transfer. Work on cross-functional teams spanning R&D, product introduction, manufacturing and sales to define test coverage, datasheet characterization and customer-facing documentation.

Primary mission is to debug and optimize new RFIC designs, create production tester programs and ensure robust high-volume test processes.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires about 8+ years of relevant RF test engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include first-silicon evaluation, characterization, and production test development:

  • Design and develop test solutions for highly integrated mm-wave RFICs.
  • Evaluate, optimize and debug first silicon and support design reviews.
  • Characterize products to define datasheet specifications.
  • Develop production test solutions and manage tester transfer to high-volume sites, including MSA and GRR studies.
  • Support creation of customer-facing collateral for product operation and test procedures.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem resolution (8D) and respond to customer issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; where noted, items are preferred but not mandatory.

  • In-depth understanding of RF network analyzers, calibration methodologies, calset manipulation and advanced RF measurements.
  • Hands-on experience with RF measurements at the IC/device level from X-band through W-band.
  • Strong Python skills for data processing and visualization (numpy, matplotlib). UI development with PyQt is preferred but not required.
  • Experience analyzing large data sets using Spotfire or similar tools; solid understanding of statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DoE).
  • Ability to interface to digital control (SCAN testing, STIL files, SPI). FPGA experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with Sales, R&D, NPI and manufacturing teams.
  • Highly self-motivated with strong ownership and ability to drive complex tasks to completion.
  • Note: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with at least 8 years of relevant RF test engineering experience.
