Staff Reliability Engineer, Quality Assurance
Role Summary
Own product reliability and quality for integrated circuits from development through production to meet industry standards and customer expectations. The role supports NPI, qualification, failure analysis, and long-term reliability assessment.
Works within the engineering organization and with global cross-functional teams to define and execute reliability test plans, analyze data, and recommend corrective actions.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Requires extensive reliability engineering experience; the posting indicates a minimum of 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing reliability activities and supporting product qualification and issue resolution.
- Define and own reliability qualification plans for NPI and production.
- Coordinate reliability test scheduling and manage test execution (HTOL, ELFR, HTDR/LTDR, ESD/LU, uHAST, TCT, HTSL, BHAST, etc.).
- Analyze test data, apply reliability acceleration models and statistical methods, and generate reports.
- Drive failure analysis (FA) activities, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support quality incident investigations, risk assessment, and mitigation activities.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional engineering teams and communicate results to internal teams and customers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and working practices.
- Extensive hands-on experience with IC reliability test methodologies and physical failure mechanisms.
- Experience with reliability acceleration models, statistical analysis, and failure analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as JEDEC families and AEC-Q100/Q006.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience coordinating qualification, ORT, and quality incident activities across global teams.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills for technical reporting and cross-team coordination.
- Nice-to-have: prior semiconductor IC reliability roles involving both qualification and FA for automotive or industrial applications.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field. The posting specifies a minimum of 8+ years of reliability engineering experience related to integrated circuits or semiconductor components.
