Staff Quality & Reliability Engineer

Role Summary

Lead planning and execution of product reliability qualification, stress testing, and life-prediction activities for Marvell Connectivity and Switch products. Work across Product, Design, Test Engineering, Operations, customers, and vendors to ensure product integrity from NPI through production.

The role emphasizes JEDEC-compliant qualification, data-driven reliability assessment, and multi-site program management.

Experience Level

Senior — Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or Master's/PhD with 2+ years (as specified in the posting).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing and executing qualification plans, coordinating resources and vendors, analyzing reliability data, and reporting findings.

  • Collaborate with customers to review custom qualification requirements and develop qualification plans for Connectivity and Switch products.
  • Plan NPI reliability requirements and perform technical risk assessments with Business Unit and Operations teams.
  • Manage multiple concurrent reliability qualification programs from planning through execution, debug, and closure.
  • Coordinate internal and external engineering resources and vendors for test execution and test-hardware development.
  • Develop and execute stress testing, readpoint testing, and qualification logistics across local and international programs.
  • Analyze stress and readpoint data across logic, memory, and analog IPs to evaluate reliability performance.
  • Review ESD/HBM/CDM/Latch-Up test results and provide actionable feedback to design teams.
  • Author and deliver final qualification reports summarizing findings and reliability assessments for customers.
  • Develop and monitor reliability metrics such as MTBF and FIT rates.
  • Lead 8D troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for qualification failures.

Requirements

Required skills and experience and desirable additions.

Must-have:

  • Experience with semiconductor stress testing methodologies per JEDEC (e.g., HTOL, HAST, HTS, TC, ESD, Latch-Up) and ESD/HBM/CDM/Latch-Up analysis.
  • Hands-on experience in product qualification and reliability testing, including stress pattern bring-up and test execution.
  • Experience working with vendors on test-hardware design, build, and test execution.
  • Familiarity with structured root-cause analysis (8D) for qualification investigations.
  • Ability to synthesize qualification data and author clear, customer-facing qualification reports.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex, multi-site qualification programs including scheduling, resource coordination, and stakeholder communication.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Eligibility to access export-controlled technology may be required under applicable law.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with advanced CMOS nodes and high-power products.
  • Experience calculating and monitoring MTBF and FIT rates.
  • Prior program management experience.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Smartsheet, PowerBI, or similar data/reporting platforms.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience; or Master's or PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience. (No other degree, certification, or equivalent-experience language was specified.)
