Staff Quality Assurance Engineer
Role Summary
The Product Qualification Engineer (PQE) ensures product quality and reliability by planning and executing qualification and reliability monitoring activities across design, test, manufacturing, and supplier environments.
The role works cross-functionally with Design, Test, Manufacturing, Reliability and FA labs, and Customer/Supplier Quality to prevent defects, validate mitigations, and approve products for production release.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor quality, reliability, or manufacturing-related roles.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include defining and executing qualification and reliability activities and communicating results to stakeholders.
- Define, perform, and review qualification plans for new products, second sources, material, design, and process changes.
- Design and implement stress tests appropriate to product applications.
- Ensure compliance with internal specs, customer requirements, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, IEC, JEDEC).
- Communicate qualification plans and data with customers at silicon, package, and board levels.
- Participate in risk assessments (e.g., DFMEA) and verify mitigation actions.
- Review qualification results, assess risks, and provide quality approval for production release or changes.
Requirements
Must-have skills, experience, and attributes:
- 5+ years of experience in semiconductor quality, reliability, or related functions.
- Practical knowledge of semiconductor industry and semiconductor modules, including modules for AI/data-center applications.
- Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes (wafer fab, assembly for IC and modules, test).
- Strong knowledge of quality and reliability standards and qualification methodologies for modules and SiP.
- Experience with failure analysis workflows and quality tools (FMEA, 8D, root-cause analysis).
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders; English required.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional, global teams; able to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel internationally on short notice.
Education Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field (as stated in the posting).
