Staff Product Engineer
Role Summary
Lead development, qualification, release, and sustaining of advanced semiconductor power products for the Austin engineering team. Drive product engineering execution across the full lifecycle with emphasis on product quality, yield optimization, reliability, and customer issue resolution.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 8+ years of experience in semiconductor product engineering, test engineering, or related roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Own product engineering across the full lifecycle: silicon bring-up, characterization, qualification, production release, and sustaining.
- Lead root-cause analysis and resolution for complex product, test, and manufacturing issues.
- Drive improvements in yield, test efficiency, product performance, and cost of quality.
- Define and execute characterization and qualification strategies to ensure robust product releases.
- Partner with design and test teams to optimize DFT, test coverage, and correlation between bench, ATE, and system.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to resolve customer issues and field escalations.
- Analyze yield, parametric, and reliability data to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team best practices and capability growth.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 8+ years in semiconductor product engineering, test engineering, or related roles.
- Experience with power, analog, or mixed-signal semiconductor products (preferred).
- Deep understanding of product lifecycle from NPI through sustaining.
- Proven track record solving complex technical and yield-related issues; strong RCA skills.
- Data analysis experience (JMP, Python, MATLAB, or similar tools).
- Hands-on experience with ATE, silicon characterization, and production test environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated mentoring or leadership of junior engineers.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
