SoC Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Silicon Validation team to perform pre-silicon emulation and silicon validation, debug, and characterization of complex SoC products used across automotive, industrial, networking, and IoT domains. The role collaborates closely with design, verification, firmware, software, and product teams to deliver high-quality silicon releases.

Responsibilities
Accountable for planning, executing, and debugging validation across IP, subsystem, and full-chip levels on emulation and silicon.
- Develop validation plans from design specifications for subsystems and full SoC functionality.
- Create, port, and execute validation tests and bring-up on emulation platforms and silicon.
- Characterize silicon across process, voltage, and temperature variations.
- Design and maintain validation environments, test frameworks, and automation scripts.
- Debug silicon using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, JTAG).
- Analyze failures, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions with design and verification teams.
- Validate high-speed interfaces and protocols such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, and MIPI.
- Support product qualification, reliability testing, and customer issue resolution; produce detailed validation reports.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 10+ years of SoC validation and emulation/silicon validation experience.
- Strong understanding of digital design fundamentals, computer architecture, and SoC architectures.
- Experience with embedded processors, particularly ARM-based systems.
- Proficiency in C and familiarity with ARM assembly language.
- Experience working in Linux environments.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Shell for automation.
- Experience validating industry-standard interfaces and communication protocols.
- Familiarity with FPGA prototyping and board-level validation.
- Practical hardware debug skills and use of laboratory measurement/debug equipment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
