Staff Product Development Engineer (System Level Test)
Role Summary
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) system-level test (SLT) product development for AMD Data Center Graphics under Product Engineering. Define and deliver SLT solutions to meet NPI milestones, cost, quality, and test-time targets.
Work cross-functionally with architecture, design, product/test engineering, customer quality, firmware/software and platform teams to design scalable test solutions for data-center GPU/SoC products.

Responsibilities
Deliver and drive SLT solutions and lead technical efforts across NPI to meet business milestones, quality and cost targets.
- Define and develop SLT approaches for new technologies and products.
- Lead resolution of complex, novel production and test problems; perform engineering evaluations and analysis to close issues.
- Architect SLT logging and data-collection flows for manufacturing and test automation.
- Influence technical decisions affecting final product and test strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, design, software/firmware, product, customer quality) to balance quality, cost, and schedule.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship for junior engineers and uplift team capabilities in low-level system debug for data-center products.
Requirements
Core technical and leadership capabilities required to design and deliver SLT for data-center GPU/SoC products.
Must-have
- Proven experience in system-level test (SLT), NPI test engineering, or equivalent production test roles.
- Proficient understanding of x86 CPU and GPU architecture and functionality, and familiarity with HBM.
- Working knowledge of industry bus/protocols such as DDR, PCIe, USB and high-speed IO.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills; experience driving complex cross-team technical work.
- Experience collaborating with product, test engineering, firmware/software and platform teams.
Preferred / Nice-to-have
- Experience with GPU architecture, SoC design, power management features, and firmware/software interaction.
- Programming and scripting skills (Java, Shell, Perl, Ruby, Python) and proficiency with Windows and Linux.
- Experience with HBM, HSIO, high-volume manufacturing (HVM), or data-center infrastructure.
- Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills and experience working with distributed engineering teams.
