Staff Product Development Engineer (SLT)
Role Summary
Join AMD's New Product Introduction (NPI) test engineering team within Product Engineering to define and deliver system-level test (SLT) solutions for Data Center Graphics (DCG) products. The role leads SLT product development across architecture, design, product/test engineering, and software teams to meet NPI milestones and KPIs (test time, yield, cost, quality).

Responsibilities
Lead and deliver SLT solutions that meet business milestones, quality, and cost targets. Expected responsibilities include:
- Drive design, implementation, and qualification of SLT solutions for new products.
- Solve complex, novel, and non-recurring system-level problems and initiate process improvements.
- Conduct engineering evaluations and analyses to resolve production issues.
- Design and implement SLT logging and data-collection flows for manufacturing.
- Influence technical decisions affecting final product quality and test strategy.
- Lead or consult on projects and product development initiatives; coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical supervision or mentoring to junior engineers.
- Build team capability in low-level system debug for AMD data center product families.
Requirements

- Must have: Proficient understanding of x86 CPU and GPU architecture and functionality, and familiarity with HBM.
- Must have: Broad knowledge of industry-standard bus protocols such as DDR, PCIe, and USB.
- Must have: Strong technical, analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills; experience driving NPI SLT solutions and collaborating across architecture, product, test, and software teams.
- Must have: Experience with system-level debug and production issue analysis.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Working experience with GPU architecture, SoC design, power management features, firmware/software interaction, HBM/HSIO, or HVM.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Scripting and programming skills (Java, Shell, Perl, Ruby, Python) and proficiency with Windows and Linux environments.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with data center infrastructure and strong verbal/written presentation skills for distributed teams.
