Staff Product Development Engineer

Role Summary

The Staff Product Development Engineer will evaluate the performance of AMD AECG and Embedded products. This role involves developing and executing IP and system characterization suites and conducting volume system-level testing to ensure performance quality and identify potential issues within complex subsystems.

Experience Level

This position requires a candidate with strong technical leadership abilities and experience in SoC/IP validation or characterization.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

• Leading characterization strategy and methodology across pre- and post-silicon phases.
• Designing and developing functional and performance tests to evaluate various hardware metrics.
• Creating system-level tests to analyze SoC performance and real-world scenarios.
• Developing volume system test suites, conducting data post-processing, and producing analytical insights.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to debug and troubleshoot issues, while communicating project status and risks.

Requirements

Preferred qualifications include:

• Proficient in logic design, RTL fundamentals, and a strong understanding of SoC architectures.
• Experience in scripting and automation frameworks, with skills in languages such as Python and C/C++.
• Experience with bench and ATE environments, and statistical analysis for experimental data.
• Familiarity with version control systems and documentation practices.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required, while a Master's degree is preferred.
