Staff Product Development Engineer
Role Summary
Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Business teams to define and validate product specifications for next-generation memory devices. Lead circuit-level analysis, design verification, device validation, and cross-functional efforts to ensure performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Experience Level
Senior — staff-level role. Posting specifies a Bachelor's degree plus approximately 8 years of progressive, post‑baccalaureate experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include product validation, failure analysis, documentation, and cross-functional support to ramp products into high volume.
- Define and validate product specifications and requirements for next-generation memory devices with multiple internal teams.
- Support design verification via circuit analysis and simulations using CAD tools.
- Create internal architecture documentation from schematics and layout knowledge.
- Interpret and apply JEDEC specifications to ensure product requirements are met.
- Develop validation flows to identify design marginalities and recommend circuit-level fixes.
- Conduct electrical failure analysis to determine root causes of device marginalities or failures.
- Use engineering lab equipment and automated testers for device characterization and failure analysis.
- Support reliability and qualification activities to ensure lifetime device performance.
- Work with manufacturing to optimize test yield and support product ramp into high-volume production.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- DRAM or silicon IC architecture, operation, testing, design, and process
- Circuit-level simulation (Verilog or analog simulation)
- Cadence schematics and layout experience
- Scripting experience (Perl, Unix shell, Batch, or Python)
- Data analysis and visualization tools (JMP, Tableau, MATLAB or equivalent)
- DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) methodology
- Familiarity with project management/tracking tools (JIRA, Confluence, or similar)
- Product validation experience with DRAM or silicon ICs
- Failure analysis and ATE testing experience
Education Requirements
Employer requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus approximately 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
