Staff Product Applications Engineer

Role Summary

The Staff Product Applications Engineer will lead product applications for advanced audio SoCs, owning adoption from silicon readiness through customer deployment. The role works across silicon, embedded software, and system-level use cases with global cross-functional teams.

This position is a technical anchor on the Bangalore team, responsible for improving product usability, evaluation platforms, documentation, and customer engagement to deliver scalable application solutions.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on customer support, product readiness, reusable reference platforms, and cross-functional technical leadership.

  • Lead customer and field support engagements; drive issue resolution and escalation management.
  • Architect and guide development of reference platforms, evaluation kits, and scalable application frameworks.
  • Define and deliver technical collateral: application notes, system guides, and integration documentation.
  • Lead debugging across silicon, firmware, and system integration to accelerate time-to-market.
  • Collaborate with product design, system applications, and software teams to prioritize features and improvements.
  • Support development of customer demos, proofs-of-concept, and platform showcases.
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for the applications engineering team.
  • Provide early application insights and validation feedback to influence product lifecycle decisions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and proven abilities for hands-on product bring-up, debugging, and cross-domain collaboration.

  • Hands-on ownership of product bring-up, debug, or deployment of mixed-signal ICs and audio signal chains.
  • Working knowledge of wireless connectivity in embedded audio systems (for example Bluetooth).
  • Strong programming experience in C/C++ and/or Python for embedded bring-up, debug, automation, and data analysis.
  • Experience with PCB bring-up, schematic review, board-level debugging, and lab instrumentation.
  • Proven ability to independently lead complex technical efforts and resolve ambiguous technical issues.
  • Broad technical depth across embedded software, hardware bring-up, connectivity, and audio systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; experience collaborating with customers and globally distributed teams.
  • Willingness to travel (required up to approximately 25% of the time).

Education Requirements

BSEE or MSEE in Electronics (or equivalent degree) is specified. The posting also accepts equivalent practical experience in lieu of the listed degrees.
