Staff Process Engineer
Role Summary
Lead wafer-test process engineering for high-volume semiconductor manufacturing at the Hitachinaka site. Responsible for production support, yield and cost improvement, new-product test ramp, equipment stability, and measures to prevent customer escapes and improve customer satisfaction.
Position is based in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki with a hybrid schedule (two remote days per week; in-office days are Tuesday–Thursday).

Responsibilities
Accountable for wafer-test operations, product launch, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Improve yield and reduce scrap in wafer-test to lower production costs.
- Perform wafer-test evaluation and lead new-product test ramp to production.
- Ensure stable operation of wafer-test equipment and advance testing techniques.
- Implement controls in the wafer-test line to prevent customer escapes and improve customer satisfaction.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills required or preferred for the role.
- Must-have: Practical experience in wafer test, production process engineering, or equivalent production-technology experience.
- Must-have: Basic PC proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Must-have: Effective communication skills to coordinate with multiple departments.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of semiconductor engineering.
- Nice-to-have: Direct experience as a wafer-test engineer or in mass-production process improvement.
Education Requirements
Technical college (kosen), bachelor's degree (4-year university) or graduate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Physics or related technical fields; or equivalent practical experience in production/production engineering.
