Job Title

Staff PCIe Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Senior verification engineer responsible for functional and performance verification of high-speed IO subsystems (PCIe, CXL) at the sub-system level. Work within Solutions Engineering with architects, RTL designers and verification engineers across multiple regions to define verification strategy, implement testbenches, and deliver sign-off for SoC projects.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 9+ years of relevant verification experience.

Responsibilities

Design and execute verification activities for PCIe/CXL subsystems and integrations.

  • Create verification strategies and detailed test plans for sub-system and IO integration verification.
  • Develop SystemVerilog/Verilog/UVM testbenches, transactors and directed/random tests.
  • Perform performance analysis and interoperability testing with Arm and third-party IPs.
  • Integrate verification with SMMU and interrupt controller scenarios and validate IO virtualization behavior.
  • Run and debug simulations and emulation platforms; triage and root-cause failures.
  • Improve and maintain verification methodologies, coverage metrics, and sign-off criteria.
  • Collaborate with microarchitecture, design, and project management; mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain experience required for the role.

  • Extensive experience verifying PCIe and/or CXL subsystems and SoC-level integrations.
  • Strong understanding of digital hardware design and Verilog HDL.
  • Expertise in UVM-based verification methodologies and coverage-driven verification.
  • Experience with simulation and emulation platforms and emulation-friendly transactors.
  • Performance analysis skills for high-speed IO and experience with interoperability testing.
  • Familiarity with System Memory Management Unit (SMMU) and interrupt controller integration with PCIe.
  • Proven debugging skills using standard debuggers and failure analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of formal verification methodologies.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Arm-based designs and ARM system architectures.
  • Clock-domain crossing and power-aware verification experience.
  • Scripting skills (Perl, Python) and familiarity with AI coding tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field (degree explicitly listed in the source).
