Job Title

Staff Mixed-Signal IC Designer

Role Summary

Design low-power, high-performance analog and mixed-signal audio integrated circuits as part of the PES Audio team. The role covers system- and circuit-level architecture, transistor-level design, and delivery of production-ready silicon in collaboration with layout, test, and cross-functional teams.

This senior position provides technical leadership and mentorship, participates in bench evaluation and production test activities, and influences system-level architecture decisions for audio products.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 5+ years of progressive experience in analog and mixed-signal circuit architecture and design.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include leading architecture and executing designs through to silicon, enabling successful verification and production test, and mentoring junior engineers.

  • Lead architecture definition for analog and mixed-signal functionality.
  • Execute designs from abstract/system level down to transistor level.
  • Provide guidance for layout implementation, bench evaluation, and production test.
  • Actively participate in bench evaluation with the evaluation team.
  • Communicate design choices, performance trade-offs, and project progress to stakeholders.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with multi-site, cross-functional engineering teams; travel approximately 10% as required.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience. Preferred items listed separately.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience architecting and designing analog and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Hands-on experience with low-power transistor-level design.
  • Proficiency with Spectre simulation tools or equivalent; experience with behavioral/system-level modeling tools.
  • Good understanding of semiconductor device physics.
  • Experience with bench evaluation and production test processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across sites.
  • Proven ability to mentor and technically lead engineering teams.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of signal processing (data converters, DSP).
  • Experience with power design.
  • Experience in audio IC design.
  • Passion for audio applications.

Education Requirements

Degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering (bachelor's level) is specified; the posting couples the degree expectation with 5+ years of progressive analog/mixed-signal design experience.
