Job Title

Staff Mixed-Signal Design Engineer, Pathfinding

Role Summary

Join Micron’s Pathfinding Design Team to define and develop mixed-signal control circuits that operate next-generation memory technologies. The role focuses on concept development, circuit simulation, optimization, and floor planning across memory array-to-interface paths for DRAM and emerging memories.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 7+ years of experience in custom mixed-signal circuit design.

Responsibilities

The role requires hands-on design and technical leadership across mixed-signal memory control circuits and close collaboration with physical design teams.

  • Provide technical direction and implement memory control circuits (analog and digital) from the memory array to the interface block.
  • Develop and evaluate novel circuit concepts, run simulations, and perform optimization and floor planning to meet performance and integration goals.
  • Model and simulate ICs using HSPICE/finesim and verify circuit behavior under target conditions.
  • Work with physical design teams to achieve timing closure, ensure CDC robustness, and align on power intent.
  • Contribute to custom mixed-signal IC build and development for volatile and nonvolatile memory technologies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience followed by preferred qualifications.

  • Must-have: 7+ years of experience in custom mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with UNIX and the Cadence design environment (simulation, schematic entry, SPF extraction).
  • Must-have: Experience modeling and simulating ICs using HSPICE/finesim.
  • Preferred: Experience with DDR or other high-performance memory architectures.
  • Preferred: Clock-domain crossing (CDC) strategies, reset strategies, and low-power design techniques.
  • Preferred: Semi-custom digital circuit design, especially high-speed datapath design.
  • Preferred: Memory control logic design experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (as listed in minimum qualifications).
