Job Title

Staff Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design transistor-level mixed-signal circuits for high-speed data converter cores and related IP. Work within the Advanced Cores Group to translate architecture-level requirements into robust circuit blocks for integration into SoC products.

Collaborate with designers, layout, evaluation, and test engineering teams across multiple locations; participate in design reviews and documentation.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 5+ years' experience in CMOS analog/mixed-signal design and ASIC/SoC development.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include circuit design, system trade-offs, and cross-team coordination:

  • Implement transistor-level circuit blocks within a defined architecture.
  • Assess system-level impacts of block parameters and make design trade-offs.
  • Design wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision voltage/current references, and LDOs.
  • Prepare design documentation and conduct design reviews.
  • Guide layout, evaluation, and test engineering teams through implementation and characterization.
  • Work effectively within a geographically distributed team.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items noted.

  • Must-have: 5+ years practical experience in CMOS analog/mixed-signal design.
  • Must-have: Strong transistor-level analog design skills.
  • Must-have: Experience with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.
  • Must-have: Experience designing amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision references, and LDOs.
  • Must-have: Good written and verbal communication and ability to work in large teams.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in high-speed data converter or SerDes PHY design.
  • Nice-to-have: Signal-processing knowledge related to calibration algorithms and experience using MATLAB for behavioral modeling.

Education Requirements

M.S. or higher (Master's or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering is required.
