Staff Mixed-Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
The Staff Mixed-Signal Design Engineer will join the Advanced Cores Group (ACG) to develop ADC, DAC, and/or SerDes PHY subsystems for mixed-signal SoC products using FinFET technologies. The role focuses on architecture evaluation, transistor-level circuit design, layout guidance, and evaluation/test of mixed-signal integrated circuits.
Experience Level
Senior (Staff level). The posting indicates 7+ years of mixed-signal integrated circuit development experience.
Responsibilities
The engineer will lead technical design activities across mixed-signal subsystem development and support productization.
- Evaluate alternative mixed-signal subsystem implementation architectures (ADC, DAC, SerDes PHY).
- Design transistor-level mixed-signal integrated circuits for SoC applications.
- Prepare clear design documentation and participate in design reviews.
- Provide guidance on mixed-signal IC layout and physical implementation.
- Oversee mixed-signal IC evaluation, lab characterization, and test methodologies.
- Contribute to product development lifecycle: verification, qualification, and release activities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for the role.
- 7+ years experience in mixed-signal integrated circuit development.
- Strong understanding of data converter (ADC/DAC) architectures and specifications and/or deep knowledge of SerDes PHY architectures and specifications.
- Deep knowledge of mixed-signal design fundamentals, design tools, and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of IC product development processes, including design, verification, evaluation, test, and qualification.
- Proven track record developing challenging mixed-signal ICs for commercial applications.
- Strong technical leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
Education Requirements
MS in Electrical Engineering.
