Job Title
Staff Memory Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and optimize DRAM memory arrays, peripheral logic, and analog circuits across schematic, layout, and verification. Lead layout activities (floor-planning, placement, routing) and perform circuit-level verification including functional, timing, power, and reliability analysis.
Work with CAD, EDA, and software teams to integrate AI-driven flows and automation into simulation, verification, and sign-off environments and evolve semicustom memory design methodology.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical experience: 4β8 years in memory design (as specified in the posting).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, layout oversight, and integration of advanced design flows:
- Contribute to design, layout, and optimization of DRAM memory arrays, peripheral logic, and analog circuits.
- Leverage AI-based tools and automation to accelerate schematic optimization, design-space exploration, parasitic analysis, sensitivity studies, and debug across simulation and silicon learning loops.
- Define and advance semicustom methodology for memory design and drive methodology improvements for future memory generations.
- Collaborate with CAD, EDA, and software teams to integrate AI-driven flows into simulation, verification, and sign-off environments.
- Oversee and manage layout tasks including floor-planning, placement, and routing.
- Perform circuit-level verification: functional, timing, power, and reliability analysis using industry-standard and Micron-specific simulators and tools.
- Contribute to cross-group communication and standardization efforts.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience, plus preferred qualifications:
-
Must-have: Strong fundamentals in CMOS circuit design, device physics, and memory operation.
-
Must-have: Experience with SPICE-based simulation and parasitic extraction.
-
Must-have: Experience working with CAD/EDA flows and verification tools.
-
Nice-to-have: Domain knowledge in DRAM design (DDR5, LPDDR5, HBM) or NAND memory design.
-
Nice-to-have: Exposure to or interest in AI/ML-assisted design flows, agentic AI, or advanced automation in circuit design and verification.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with SoC/ASIC semicustom flow.
-
Nice-to-have: Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is specified. The posting indicates 4β8 years of experience in memory design.
