Staff Memory Controller Performance Architect
Role Summary
Lead performance modeling and system-level analysis for memory controller and interconnect IP within Arm System IP. Collaborate with performance engineers and product teams to develop, validate and productize models that guide IP micro-architecture and system optimizations.
Salary range: $198,100β$268,000 per year.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include driving memory controller and system performance efforts, producing models and analysis, and mentoring team members.
- Develop and maintain memory controller IP and system-level performance models.
- Analyze system-level bottlenecks for key workloads and KPIs to inform IP micro-architecture and feature trade-offs.
- Define power and performance methodologies for new workloads using simulation and emulation.
- Work with business units and partners to provide models, analysis, guidance and ensure confidence in Arm IP and system behavior.
- Conduct model/RTL correlation and validation activities when required.
- Mentor and guide performance engineers on the team.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; followed by concise nice-to-have items.
- Proven experience in memory/interconnect performance modeling, workload analysis and system performance engineering.
- Proficiency in C++ for large-scale software development.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
- Experience performing system-level analysis to identify bottlenecks and propose micro-architectural improvements.
- Strong collaboration, communication skills, initiative, and experience mentoring technical staff.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with SystemC Transaction Level Modeling and interconnect micro-architecture design.
- Experience with model correlation methodologies with RTL and performance tool deployment/extrapolation for large systems.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with strong background in computer architecture, microarchitecture, and performance; equivalent academic credentials in related technical fields may be acceptable.
