Staff Logic Design Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
Staff Logic Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Client SoC development team within Devices Development Group Malaysia to design, develop, and integrate RTL/IP for next-generation Client SoC products. The role focuses on IP RTL design, front-end quality, and RTL-to-SoC integration to ensure readiness for downstream verification and silicon bring-up.
Experience Level
Senior (Staff-level). The role expects hands-on RTL/Logic design experience; hiring guidance in the posting indicates at least 3 years of relevant IP or SoC RTL/Logic design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, integration, and delivery of IP and RTL into Client SoC platforms.
- Own internal IP RTL design, development, and integration into Client SoC platforms.
- Define, implement, and deliver new IP features, change requests, and feature enhancements.
- Drive IP-to-SoC handoff quality: ensure design completeness, compliance, and integration readiness.
- Integrate RTL into SoC with attention to power intent, signal handling across power planes and clock domains, and front-end collateral for system and software teams.
- Collaborate with verification teams to validate functionality and integration readiness.
- Execute front-end quality checks: RTL static analysis, synthesizability, timing and power convergence, netlist quality, and formal equivalence verification.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience to perform the role; a few desirable capabilities are listed separately.
- Must-have: 3+ years of IP or SoC RTL/Logic design experience working on RTL and SoC integration.
- Must-have: Strong RTL design experience using Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Must-have: Knowledge of SoC/ASIC front-end development practices, RTL flows, and industry front-end tools.
- Must-have: Experience with SoC fabric, interconnect design, and IP/subsystem architecture.
- Must-have: Pre-silicon or post-silicon lab debug and power-on experience.
- Must-have: Good communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with industry-standard high-speed bus protocols and I/O architecture.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with timing and power convergence methods, netlist quality practices, and formal equivalence verification.
- Nice-to-have: Experience applying AI-assisted engineering workflows, automation, and scripting to accelerate RTL development and quality checks.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (as stated in the posting).
