Staff FPGA Engineer, Intelligence Systems

Role Summary

Join Anduril's Intelligence Systems (AIS) team to design, implement, and validate FPGA-based signal processing and communications subsystems for Intelligence Community customers. The role focuses on rapid development, hands-on testing, and production bring-up of FPGA solutions on modern SoC/FPGA platforms.

Senior β€” 12+ years of professional FPGA design and development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Design, code, simulate, and verify FPGA logic for SoC/FPGA platforms.
  • Participate in the full design lifecycle: requirements, architecture, implementation, verification, and board bring-up.
  • Implement and validate high-speed communications (Ethernet, serial) and analog/digital signal-processing blocks.
  • Integrate third-party vendor IP and ensure proper interfacing and performance.
  • Perform hands-on hardware bring-up and system-level testing; debug issues at HDL and system levels.
  • Ensure designs meet safety and performance standards with traceability to system requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain technical documentation for delivered designs.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • 12+ years of professional FPGA design and development experience.
  • Proficient in VHDL and/or Verilog and FPGA simulation/verification workflows.
  • Experience with FPGA design tools such as Vivado, ModelSim, or Quartus Pro.
  • Experience in SoC hardware bring-up, preferably on ARM-based systems.
  • Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Xilinx SoC devices.
  • Designing for safety-critical functions and experience with FPGA interfaces and high-speed buses.
  • Low-level firmware (C/C++) development experience for bring-up and test.
  • Experience with systems-on-chip (SoC) integration and related toolchains.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
