Staff Field Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical application support and RF subsystem expertise for mobile products, working closely with customers, sales, and marketing to enable product evaluations and integrations. Lead hands-on lab testing, RF front-end tuning, and failure analysis for reference designs and smartphones.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Support customers and internal teams during product evaluations; provide technical guidance and demonstrations.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to create technical proposals and presentations.
- Perform hands-on lab testing, RF front-end tuning, and optimization for reference designs and smartphones.
- Operate RF and microwave laboratory equipment (network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, noise figure analyzer, oscilloscope, power meters).
- Develop test lab procedures, test plans, test reports, and failure analysis documentation for RF/microwave components and products.
- Contribute to IF/RF and microwave circuit and subsystem design, simulation, prototype testing, and performance validation.
- Modify designs to improve performance, quality, manufacturability, and production yields; prepare layouts, block diagrams, and schematics with design teams.
- Perform tolerance and worst-case analyses; debug circuits and isolate/resolve performance issues.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience (degree requirements summarized separately under Education Requirements):
- Handset or smartphone RF section design experience.
- Working knowledge of communications standards such as LTE.
- Experience with RF and microwave circuits and subsystems.
- Proficiency operating network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise figure analyzers, oscilloscopes, and power meters.
- Ability to create test procedures, test plans, test reports, and failure analysis documentation.
- Experience with circuit simulation and prototype verification.
- Skills in debugging, tolerance/worst-case analysis, and improving manufacturability and yields.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 6 years of relevant RF/handset experience; alternatively, Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 4 years of relevant experience. Additionally, the role expects at least 1 year of hands-on IF/RF and microwave circuit design and prototype validation experience as described in the posting.
